Casino (little casa) translates roughly as ‘The small house by the little sea’. Small maybe, but beautifully formed, and if ever a building is like a Tardis it is this one.  With 16 opulent rooms, it is fifty foot square, a masterpiece of elegance, balance and attention to detail.  There's even a secret tunnel!


The architect Sir William Chambers is better known for designing Somerset House in London.
