The first AWCD Celtic Camino Walk

Sunday, June 23rd - NOTE START TIME CHANGE!

With a lofty goal of walking ALL 8 of the official Celtic Caminos in Ireland (NO! not by the end of this year!) we are ready to start with the Bray Celtic Camino Coastal Route.

The full route, from Bray to St. James Church in Dublin is 30.2 kms. Feel free to take on the challenge in one go, but for this event, we are going "halfsies" and ending Stage 1 in Dun Laoghaire where we can reward ourselves with a nice lunch!

To make it official, and ultimately earn your Celtic Compostela (certificate for having completed at least 25 kms of an Irish Camino) you have to have an official Camino Credential (passport) available from the Camino Society of Ireland (www.caminosociety.ie) or other official office from another country. Remember - certified completion of the Celtic Camino is honored in Spain! That means you can walk about 75 kms of the Camino Inglés from A Coruña to Santiago de Compostela in Spain, and earn the official Compostela!

Ready to get started? Meet at Finbees Coffee House on the Bray Seafront at 10:30 am. We will have a coffee, check our maps, and take a photo at the official "mojon" - the concrete ballard that marks the kilometers along the way to your destination - before we start walking!

Friends and Family welcome to join in!
