The Dublin Waste-to-Energy Facility, also known as the Poolbeg Incinerator,is a waste-to-energy plant serving the Greater Dublin Area, located on the Poolbeg Peninsula.  The plant is capable of producing up to 60 megawatts of electricity, enough to power 80,000 homes.

Designed by Danish Architects Friis & Moltke, the building is a landmark on Dublin’s skyline. A light metallic screen in a neutral colour is folded around the facility to act as a protective membrane against the elements of nature while blending in with the Dublin Skyline. The facility meets the highest standards of environmental sustainability.

Our tour of the building will include the Control room for a view and commentary on the facility operations.
