Hillwalk - Great Sugarloaf

Hello AWCD Hillwalkers!

This week, we will take on Great Sugarloaf.

Date:  Thursday, 18 May 2023

Hike:  This is a short (2.4km loop) but steep trail, with a fantastic 360° panoramic view of South Dublin and Wicklow. On a clear day, you can see the mountains in Wales across the sea and the Mourne Mountains to the north. The last part of the climb towards the peak of the Sugarloaf is rough with rocky underfoot. This wonderful trail also welcomes dogs, but they must be kept on a leash.

Meeting place:  Great Sugarloaf Car Park, 4RVV+QX Red Lane, County Wicklow

Meeting time: 10:00

Hike time:  1.25 hours

Please bring:  1 liter water, lunch, snack, rain gear, hat and gloves, walking sticks if you have them
