Each holiday season we support our chosen charity by collecting gifts for their benefit at our Thanksgiving and Irish Coffee mornings, and at our Holiday Luncheon.  This year everything is moving online. 

The AWCD Giving Tree to Benefit our charity, Daisyhouse:

Daisyhouse provides Supported Temporary Accommodation combined with individual Personal Support Programmes to women who are homeless. They provide this service for 18 month periods so the women can break the cycle of homelessness and be empowered to move forward to independent, safe, sustainable living.

The AWCD would like to outfit a studio apartment for a homeless woman enrolled in the Daisyhouse program. We want to provide this in the form of Dunnes gift cards. This will allow our recipient to purchase items of her own choosing which she will bring to her eventual residence after achieving the stability to maintain permanent housing. Approximately €350 in vouchers will ”kit out” one new apartment. It’s a real “Thanksgiving” to be helping women escape homelessness.
